Our Commitment to Your Privacy

At The Better Bible, we believe your Bible reading is deeply personal. Your data should be too. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information -- or more accurately, how we don't.

TL;DR: We don't collect, store, sell, or share any of your personal data. Period.

Information We Don't Collect

The Better Bible does not collect:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, etc.)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Location data
  • Reading history or patterns
  • Device identifiers
  • IP addresses
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Any other personal information

How Your Data is Stored

All your personal data -- bookmarks, notes, highlights, reading plans, and settings -- is stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to enable iCloud sync.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data syncs through Apple's CloudKit service. Data is stored in your personal iCloud account, encrypted and private to you. We have no ability to access, read, or share your synced data. Apple's privacy policy applies to data stored in iCloud.

Bible Content

All Bible translations included with The Better Bible are bundled directly within the app. No external API calls are made to fetch Scripture content. The app works fully offline after initial download.

Speech and Audio Features

The Better Bible includes text-to-speech and word-level audio highlighting features. All speech processing happens entirely on-device using Apple's built-in speech synthesis. No audio data is sent to external servers or third parties.

No Ads, No Tracking, No Third-Party SDKs

The Better Bible contains no advertisements, no third-party analytics SDKs, no tracking cookies, no affiliate links, and no marketing trackers of any kind. We do not integrate any third-party software development kits that collect user data.

Children's Privacy

The Better Bible is safe for users of all ages, including children. Because we do not collect any personal information from anyone, we are fully compliant with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and similar regulations. No account creation is required to use the app.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device (and optionally in your personal iCloud account), you can delete all app data simply by uninstalling The Better Bible from your device. To remove iCloud data, you can manage your iCloud storage through your device's Settings app. No request to us is necessary because we never have your data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Our commitment to not collecting your data will not change.
